BRASILIA -- Luan Chagas will step inside the Octagon on Saturday night in Brasilia, Brazil, to face Erick Silva at UFC Fight Night 95, and that was his first dream match in the sport.

Chagas made his professional MMA debut in 2012, one month after Silva impressed for the third time under the UFC banner against Charlie Brenneman. Silva was the welterweight star from Brazil back then, and Chagas just hoped to have a chance to test himself against him one day.

"When I started as a professional MMA fighter and started looking at the Brazilian fighters in my division, Erick Silva was the rising prospect at the time," Chagas told MMA Fighting. "I looked at him and said ‘I’ll fight this guy one day,’ so this is a dream come true for me."

Four years have passed since then, and Silva couldn’t get where many thought he would be. Silva will try to bounce from back-to-back losses to Neil Magny and Nordine Taleb, and somehow his past performances made Chagas stop chasing him as an opponent.
